BDO hosts first networking ride of the season

Cycling-and-networking group BDO is launching its season with a Chilterns ride, including a guest speaker over lunch: Phil Cavell, author of The Midlife Cyclist and founder of Cyclefit UK.

Rolling out of Harleyford Golf Club in Buckinghamshire, we will be heading into the Chilterns, before returning to the club for lunch. This is a great networking event for keen cyclists and the ride is led by experienced ride captains, so it doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or a pro, no one gets left behind!

We are meeting at Harleyford at 10am on Wednesday 10th April for tea, coffee and cake, with an aim to roll out at 10:30am.

We have a great route lined up, exploring the quiet, meandering roads of the Chiltern Hills and the flat lands of the scenic Thames Valley. Passing the historic market towns of Marlow and Henley-on-Thames before heading out, and up, into the Chilterns. We'll take in quiet country lanes, a switchback climb, ancient bluebell woodlands, Norman churches and chocolate box villages. All accompanied by the majestic red kites the area is famous for.

Back at Harleyford Golf Club we’ll have access to the changing room facilities and showers before enjoying a two course meal in the clubhouse restaurant - a chance to debrief on the ride and network with the group. Over lunch we will hear from Phil Cavell, author of The Midlife Cyclist, founder of Cyclefit UK and contributor to Cyclist magazine, about his latest Why?” Why do cyclists seek to suffer?
